Following Are The Best Practices For How To Use Your Keywords

In title tag - Search results always shows the title tag as your site page title. The Title must be short and accurate like 6-12 words. The Keyword can be anywhere in the tag but rather near the beginning.
In anchor text - Anchor text with keyword focus from external links is one of the most important factor. Inbound links also considered positive not only for the site but for the keyword as well.
In headings - The Keywords placed on the heading in H1 tags also important factor but the page should be having a relevant text to the keywords. Try to keep the heading accurate (7-10 words). Better to keep you keyword as the first word of the heading.

In Domain Name – Related domain name keyword is the one of the most important factor for getting ranking to your website. It will support a lot to index our pages for specific keywords.

Density – This is the one of the most important thing, we need to change at web content. Keep less than 10% keyword density. Upto 6-7% for targeted 2-3 keywords and 1-2% for minor or secondary keywords on a page.

Alt Tags - Label images on your page with alt/title tag filled with some different long tail keywords as spiders do read these tags.
Other Headlines – Better to keep your keywords in the other head lines also i.e. H2, H3, H4, H5.

Proximity - It is the closeness between the 2 or more keywords. The closer the keywords the more likely it is to rank higher. It is best to have the keywords one after the other i.e. with no words in between them.

Image names –Better to have keywords in images names. Eg : seo.jpg

Long Tail Keywords - Targeting and optimizing less competition long tail keywords it’s beneficial to get ranking very easy.

Synonyms - Using synonyms on web pages is most effective way to ranking especially for sites in English.
